Michael Aranda - Theme from The Brain Scoop

congratulations to Emily Graslie, Michael Aranda, Hank Green, and the whole crew!

kahlilhanafi:

So I made a remix, don’t mind the crap mixing and the incredibly out of place intro, but yeah.

I made a song and it’s called “Hanklerfish” because Hank Green

LYRICS BC REASONS:

Let me tell you ‘bout the Hanklerfish
If you’re wondering what the hell that is
It’s identical to an anglerfish
But instead of big sharp teeth, it’s got the face of Hank Green
There’s not too many left out in the wild
They’re all in the captivity of Nerdfighters
I don’t think they’re gonna give them up anytime soon
Unless you give them tickets to see John live
(Maybe Neil Gaiman too, I dunno.)

Hanklerfish are really scary
They never look you right in the eyes
But they’re really crazy, kinda lazy fish
That go really well with fries
So I’ve heard…

They look just like anglerfish
With the light on its head to draw you close
Then when you’re hypnotized by its beauty
It eats you up for lunch
Then it’ll make a YouTube video
About how its meal represents the decay of modern life
Its cousin, rather, brother, the John Greenerfish
Will respond to that a few days later…
(That’s kinda mean. I died for a video? Ridiculous.)

Hanklerfish are really scary
They never look you right in the eyes
But they’re really crazy, kinda lazy fish
That go really well with fries
So I’ve heard…
Hanklerfish are really scary
They never look you right in the eyes
But they’re really crazy, kinda lazy fish
That go really well with fries
So I’ve heard…

Are you gonna French the llama
Or are you just gonna sit there in the water
And wait for your prey?
I think we all know the answer to this question…
Hanklerfish are really scary
They never look you right in the eyes
But they’re really crazy, kinda lazy fish
That go really well with fries
So I’ve heard…
Hanklerfish are really scary
They never look you right in the eyes
But they’re really crazy, kinda lazy fish
That go really well with fries
So I’ve heard…

(btw i sent this to both John and Hank and idk if they’ll ever see it but TUMBLR DO YOUR THING PLS)

also, DFTBA, internet.

michaelaranda:

When The Lizzie Bennet Diaries was still in pre-production, Hank asked me to compose the show’s theme.  The one that ended up in the show was my third attempt.  This one was my first.  It’s much softer and more “flowery”, but doesn’t match the show’s more upbeat and energetic tone.  Still, I don’t think using this one would have been a terrible choice, either.

What do you think? How would the show have been different for you with a different opening theme?

So a while ago I posted up a snippet of a working version of a song I wrote based on John Green’s novel, The Fault In Our Stars. Since then, i’ve been working on an extremely rewarding, exciting video project to go along with the song, but with travel setbacks, the video is at least a month and a half away.  So i thought i’d give you the 99% finished full version of the song tonight. Hope you guys like it. Keep in mind that it’s only the third song i’ve ever written and i made it with my keyboard in my bedroom without knowing how to play keyboard so it mAY NOT BE PERFECT.

My new music video ‘I’ve Got What It Takes’ - the hardest video I’ve ever had to make. I’ll make a more in-depth behind the scenes video soon but in the meantime I hope you enjoy this :)

allons-y-my-dear-watson:

A TFioS song! The sound quality isn’t stellar, and I apologize for that.

Lyrics:

Late in the winter the stars are so clear
Painting pictures for all to see
My thoughts get all crossed and the pictures get lost
But that doesn’t mean they cease to be

Falling in love is a powerful drug
A rare one that it’s new to me
Slow in its grace and dark in its haste
And it’s just like falling asleep

There are infinite numbers on a number line
And God what number am I
It’s bigger than us, but we’re bigger than some
As we race off through the sky

Your body lit up like a Hectic Glow
And the pin fell from our grenade
Angel dust is just swing set rust
Oh how those were the days

The heart of your heart is a part of my heart
Let your heart keep beating for me
It’s a killing thing but we’re fighting machines
Love, don’t let it take you to sea

There are infinite numbers on a number line
And God what number am I
It’s bigger than us, but we’re bigger than some
As we race off through the sky

The scars that you leave are the scars I will keep
Till I pass them off as my own
I hope that you love capital S Something
And know that you’re never alone

The choices we make are the things we will take
When we slip into oblivion soon
We all hope we can love all the things we have done
And I do

I do

Please please please help me get John Green to see this! My husband says if John sees it he’ll preorder the John Green BOXED SET for me and then I would be so happy because

a) JOHN GREEN WOULD SEE THE SONG I WROTE ABOUT HIS BOOK

and

b) I’D HAVE HIS BOXED SET WITH THE NEW KATHERINES. (also it was designed by KAREN KAVETT so holy goodness yes)

So please reblog and maybe tweet this to him too? I’d love you forever and stuff.
